Hospice & Palliative Care
Ensuring the well-being of your family is our top commitment. At Peaceful Paws, our hospice services begin with an in-person visit at your home, followed by virtual care appointments conducted by our hospice veterinarian. This initial visit allows us to assess your pet's requirements and your own needs. It also provides you with valuable information about the benefits and responsibilities associated with being a hospice caregiver for your pet, enabling you to make an informed decision on whether hospice care is the right option for both you and your beloved animal companion.

An Individualized Plan of Care
Following the initial visit, our hospice veterinarian collaborates with your family to create a personalized care plan tailored to your pet's specific needs for pain relief, symptom management, comfort, and companionship. We emphasize the importance of consistent communication to ensure adjustments can be made to the care plan as necessary. Embracing hospice care for your pet entails assuming new responsibilities. While this commitment can be fulfilling, it demands a significant investment of time, emotional support, and physical endurance. It is essential to consider both the financial implications and emotional strain of hospital treatment when determining the suitability of in-home palliative care for your pet.

*Travel/toll charges may apply for some locations and the cost for any medication prescribed is to be charged separately. The mentioned cost includes follow-up virtual communication as needed with the primary caregiver as well as the primary care veterinarian or specialist. There would be additional fees for any in-person follow-up visits, or if euthanasia is requested at a later time.
Our dedicated doctor will perform a complete examination and will discuss various aspects of your pet's daily life, including symptoms, mobility, hygiene, appetite, toileting habits, and other considerations that impact your pet's overall wellness.
We will take into account medical history and current medications in order to offer the most appropriate guidance and assistance. In some cases, we may suggest ways to enhance or maintain the quality of life and ensure the comfort of your loved one. Or together we may decide that peaceful in-home euthanasia is the most compassionate choice. If so, we are here to assist you during the consultation or make arrangements for a future home visit.
